We have spacious indoor kennels that are heated and air-conditioned, as well as large outdoor play areas where our maine coons can run and play. The Story of MANEKY*RO Cattery Name

 

Our Maine Coon cattery, "Maneky," name is inspired by the legendary Japanese symbol of luck and prosperity, Maneki Neko, also known as the "beckoning cat" or "lucky cat." The story behind this beautiful name perfectly reflects our values and aspirations for the future of our cattery.

The Legend of Maneki Neko

Legend has it that during the Edo period, a poor monk lived in a small, dilapidated temple in Tokyo with his beloved cat, Tama. One day, as the monk prayed for the temple’s prosperity, he noticed Tama sitting at the entrance, raising her paw as if inviting someone inside. A wealthy samurai saw the cat and curiously approached the temple, just in time to avoid being struck by lightning. In gratitude for saving his life, the samurai became a patron of the temple, providing generous funds that brought prosperity to the place.

Why "Maneky"?

We chose the name "Maneky" for our Maine Coon cattery to honor this beautiful and symbolic legend. Just as Tama brought luck and prosperity to the temple, we believe that every Maine Coon cat we raise can bring joy, luck, and prosperity to their new homes. Maine Coon cats are known for their loving, friendly, and loyal personalities, qualities that align perfectly with the symbolism of Maneki Neko.
